The budget for the works amounts to 11.6 billion pesos.
SANTO DOMINGO. -The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) held the reception and opening of technical bids yesterday, Wednesday, for the contracting of works related to the construction of road works and the placement of hot asphalt concrete at the national level, in which a total of 76 companies participated.
The budget for these works amounts to 11.6 billion pesos.
The activity, held at the MOPC Recreational and Cultural Club, was led by Nelson Maloney, advisor to Minister Deligne Ascención, whom he represented in his capacity as president of the Purchasing and Contracting Committee of the state agency.
Maloney indicated that the process of receiving and opening technical offers of “A envelopes” is carried out within the framework of Law 340-06, on Public Purchases and Contracts, and as set forth in the national public tender MOPC-CCC-LPN-2023-0015.
The work to be carried out is divided into six zones, in order to simultaneously carry out all the works in different regions of the country.
Zone A comprises Greater Santo Domingo and the province of Monte Plata; Zone B includes San Cristóbal, Peravia, San José de Ocoa, Azua and San Juan.
Zone C includes the provinces of Barahona, Bahoruco, Independencia and Elías Piña; Zone D includes San Pedro de Macorís, La Romana, El Seibo, Hato Mayor and La Altagracia.
Zone E includes the provinces of the Northern region: La Vega, Santiago, Santiago Rodríguez, Valverde, Montecristi, Puerto Plata, and Dajabón. Zone F includes Monseñor Nouel, Sánchez Ramírez, Espaillat, Duarte, Hermanas Mirabal, María Trinidad Sánchez, and Samaná.
The process was carried out before the notary public Anulfo Piña Pérez and before the members of the Purchasing and Contracting Committee, Nelson Maloney, Domingo Santana, Legal Director; Alejandro Ramírez, Administrative and Financial Director; José Madé, Director of Planning and Development, according to a press release from the Directorate of Communications and Press of Public Works.
Also present were Lérida Tobal, director of the Office of Access to Public Information, and Carina Cedano, director of the Operational Unit for Purchases and Contracts of the MOPC.

The 76 companies that were qualified and whose technical offers were accepted correspond to construction companies and other entities in the sector, mostly with the condition of being Limited Liability Companies (SRL), and Public Limited Companies (SA).
