Techo RD will mobilize 1,500 young people in five cities across the country to address the housing deficit

The organization launched its 2025 National Collection with the goal of raising RD$3.5 million and building 100 emergency homes for families living in poverty.

SANTO DOMINGO - With the purpose of addressing the housing deficit that affects thousands of families in the Dominican Republic, the organization Techo officially launched its 2025 National Collection , an initiative that will mobilize 1,500 young volunteers on July 18, 19 and 20 in five cities across the country.

Diego Quintanilla , spokesperson for the organization, stated that this fundraising campaign has three main objectives : “To mobilize 1,500 young volunteers in five cities, to raise RD$3.5 million in the three days of the campaign, and for the funds raised to bring us closer to the goal of building 100 homes this year ,” he said in statements to El Inmobiliario .

She also emphasized that the initiative seeks to integrate all of Dominican society : “Young people can register and participate as volunteers in the fundraiser, while businesses and citizens can make financial contributions or become partners. Communities can also apply to work alongside us.”

In making a direct call to action, Quintanilla emphasized: “In the Dominican Republic, poverty remains an urgent reality. We cannot move forward as a country while entire communities lack access to clean water, safe housing , or basic services . It is time to act, not wait.”

The organization will allocate the funds raised to the construction of 100 emergency homes in low-income settlements. The effort will take place in the National District, Santiago de los Caballeros, San Francisco de Macorís, La Vega, and Bonao, where volunteers will walk through streets and public spaces promoting citizen participation and raising awareness of the realities faced by the most vulnerable communities.
