“Skincare doesn’t have to be complicated, it has to be smart.”

The sun and screen light are responsible for blemishes, premature wrinkles, and more serious problems.

SANTO DOMINGO. El Inmobiliario Media Group, we have a genuine interest in providing the best possible guidance to our readers in the real estate, construction, tourism, and, in general, to all those who find value in our content.

Modern life is so fast-paced that, without realizing it, we go from dawn till midnight juggling multiple tasks, and often after an exhausting day we remain connected from home in front of the computer. Amidst this rhythm, a key question arises: how can we care for our skin so that it reflects health and well-being?

To answer this, we spoke with Dr. Chérida Julissa Batista, a dermatologist and surgeon, and a pioneer specializing in cosmetic surgery in the country, who shared clear and practical advice on skin care.

Although these recommendations are geared towards female executives, men should also take them into account. After all, our skin is our calling card, and in a competitive world, personal image communicates health, confidence, and, why not, power.

Regarding the challenges Dominican women executives face in skincare, the doctor's response is unsettling: “Dominican women, especially those who live life at a breakneck pace between work, family, and commitments, often neglect personal care . The challenge lies in finding routines that are effective, efficient, and protective, without being too time-consuming.”

It's unsettling to know that, even as executive leaders and homemakers, we must dedicate time to pampering our skin, which is our calling card and which we subject to incredible stress every day. Taking care of ourselves should be among our priorities, and it shouldn't be expensive or time-consuming.

“The routine doesn’t have to be complicated or involve 30 products. The important thing is to use what really works for our skin type: five to eight well-thought-out steps can make all the difference. More than using 30 without any consistency,” she explains, summarizing those essential steps as follows:

Smart cleansing: twice a day, with a gentle cleanser.

Antioxidants in the morning: a good quality Vitamin C serum to protect and give luminosity.

Use SPF 50+ sunscreen every day, no excuses. Apply it to your face, neck, décolleté, and hands, and reapply every four hours if you have skin prone to dark spots.

Retinoids at night : if the skin tolerates it, it is the best ally against aging.

Constant hydration: adapted to the skin type.

Don't forget the body: arms, legs, décolletage and hands also require attention.

Internal hydration and a balanced diet : what you eat and drink is reflected in your skin.

Strategic breaks : stress leaves its mark on the skin; taking a couple of minutes a day to breathe or practice mindfulness can even be the first step in your routine. If our mind is well, our skin shows it. And so do others.

Visit your dermatologist: every skin is different and to understand it you have to consult dermatologists, who will always inform you about the products that work best.

She strongly emphasizes the importance of using sunscreen, and we asked her why she considers it so vital: “Because the sun and light, even from screens, are responsible for blemishes, premature wrinkles, and even skin cancer. Sunscreen is the smartest investment: it protects and prevents,” she explains.

She also advises us not to see our skincare routine as a burden, but as a daily treat. It takes no more than five minutes, and the benefits are long-lasting. Our skin is our calling card, and taking care of it is also taking care of our health.

A powerful message from Dr. Chérida Batista to our readers who want to look radiant even with little time, especially to women, is: “Our skin speaks volumes about us before we say a word. With simple steps, consistency, and the right products, it can stay healthy and luminous, without complications. And the best gift you can give yourselves is those little breaks throughout the day: they are medicine for both your skin and your soul.”.

More than just aesthetics, it's about health and well-being.

Ultimately, skincare isn't just about looks: it's about health, prevention, and an act of self-love. In the words of Dr. Batista, "It's not about complicating things, but about being consistent and mindful."

So, whether you're a female executive, a real estate professional, or a businessman living under pressure, remember that your skin speaks volumes before you say a word. Dedicate a few minutes each day to it and you'll notice the difference: not only in the mirror, but also in the way you project confidence and well-being in every encounter.
