SANTO DOMINGO - Four deputy ministers were sworn in yesterday at the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), who were appointed by Executive Decree 103-25.
Miguel Ángel Logroño Di Vanna, Vice Minister of Supervision and Oversight; Fernando Hiram Taveras Rodríguez, Road Maintenance; Fernando Augusto Moore Guzmán, of Planning and Technical Regulation; and Oliver José Nazario Brugal, Regional Coordination, are the officials sworn in by Eduardo Estrella, Minister of that state agency, who assumed the position on February 27.
Estrella highlighted the qualities of the team that accompanies him in the current administration and valued the trajectory and experience they have had previously in the MOPC and in the State.

In the presence of the institution's former deputy ministers, Estrella indicated that "this transition, more than a simple transfer of paperwork, I prefer to be one of opinions, advice, and recommendations; the idea is for the government to continue.".
He added that "we continue working, that no state activity should stop, that is the spirit that fills us all.".
He asked outgoing officials and directors to support the current ones, and appealed to the humility that characterizes the newly appointed officials to consult and receive the appropriate recommendations.
Minister Estrella said he feels committed to the country, President Luis Abinader, and all officials and employees, and that he seeks to make this an excellent administration. “I thank you for joining me; you have a great task ahead of you,” he added.

Logroño Di Vanna, the new Deputy Minister of Supervision and Oversight, has more than 35 years of experience in the Ministry of Public Works, having been in charge of the planning and investment areas.
Taveras Rodríguez, the Vice Minister of Road Maintenance, is a civil engineer. His career in the government includes serving as head of the School Buildings Directorate. He also served as executive director of the Airport Department, and until his appointment, he was a member of the Civil Aviation Board.
Moore Guzmán, Vice Minister of Planning and Technical Regulation, is a civil engineer and was director of the Technical Office of Land Transport, now the National Institute of Transit and Land Transport (INTRANT), and has experience in the Ministry as director of the Planning area.
Nazario Brugal, Vice Minister of Regional Coordination, is a civil engineer with a master's degree in finance and a specialization in public management. He has extensive experience in the construction industry. He previously headed the Puerto Plata Water and Sewerage Corporation.
According to a press release, the vice ministers of Road and Sectoral Infrastructure, Elías Santana and Tomasina Pascual, remain in their positions.
