SANTO DOMINGO. - Despite the power outage that affected the facilities of the Las Américas International Airport (AILA), managed by AERODOM, last Sunday the 21st, the company MGI-Dominican Republic assures that it kept all its food and customer service operating without interruption.
“Thanks to our planning and constant investment in infrastructure, we were able to continue operating normally. Service to passengers and airlines was not affected for a single minute,” highlighted Mario Llana, country manager of MGI-RD.
"While many travelers saw their travel plans disrupted, we remained there, offering food and service with the same efficiency as always," he added.
Augusto del Valle, MGI's corporate director for the Caribbean, explained that all the equipment—completely electric—functioned without problems, meeting the highest safety and hygiene standards.
"The next day, we even received a visit from an auditor from Delta Air Lines, who confirmed that our operation during the emergency was flawless," he said.
He emphasizes that it was made possible thanks to the solid infrastructure installed by MGI-RD at AILA, which includes two 600 KVA generators with a redundancy system, a 4,000-gallon diesel tank, and a 100,000-gallon water reserve.
“At MGI, we are committed to a resilient operation. We leave nothing to chance. Every investment we make is designed to ensure that we can continue serving, even in the most challenging situations,” said Del Valle.
