The swearing-in ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Administrative Ministry of the Presidency.
SANTO DOMINGO – Víctor Ito Bisonó was sworn in this Thursday as the new Minister of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (Mivhed), during a ceremony led by the Administrative Minister of the Presidency, Andrés Bautista García, held at the headquarters of the Administrative Ministry.
Bisonó's appointment is contained in Decree 3-26, issued by President Luis Abinader on January 6, through which he replaces engineer Carlos Bonilla, who held the position since the creation of Mivhed in 2021.
During the swearing-in ceremony, Bautista García formalized the transfer of power and introduced Bisonó to the ministry's technical and administrative teams, as part of the transition process arranged by the Executive Branch.
According to official information, this move is part of the adjustments made by the Government in different areas of public administration, aimed at reorganizing responsibilities within the cabinet.
Bisonó arrives at Mivhed after serving since August 2020 as Minister of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs, an institution in which he led processes related to commercial regulation, support for MSMEs and industrial competitiveness policies.
Before his time in the Executive Branch, he was a deputy for the National District for four consecutive periods, between 2002 and 2020, a period in which he promoted legislative initiatives related to renewable energy, commercial companies, investment climate and institutionality.
He also served on the National Council of the Magistracy, representing the Chamber of Deputies, participating in evaluation and selection processes for judges of the high courts.

Carlos Bonilla, who accompanied the delivery process and held a brief exchange with Bisonó and Bautista García about the ongoing projects within the Mivhed.
