The executive reaffirmed the organization's commitment to continue promoting innovation and the adoption of good practices that facilitate access to decent housing.
SANTO DOMINGO.- The executive president of the Cibao Savings and Loan Association , José Luis Ventura Castaños , was ratified for a second term as president of the Inter-American Housing Union ( Uniapravi ), corresponding to the 2025-2027 cycle.
The appointment was made during the 57th General Assembly and the 130th Session of the association, held in the context of the 57th Inter-American Conference for Housing and the 16th Housing Forum, events in which the new members of the Executive Committee were also elected.
"I am deeply honored by my reappointment as president of the Uniapravi Executive Committee for the 2025-2027 term. I sincerely appreciate the trust placed in me by the members of the Union and congratulate all the distinguished colleagues who are joining the new team," said Ventura Castaños.
In his speech, the executive also reaffirmed the organization's commitment to continue promoting innovation, the exchange of experiences, and the adoption of best practices that facilitate access to decent housing, housing finance, and sustainable urban development in Latin America and the Caribbean, strengthening the collaboration between the public and private sectors.
The new Uniapravi Executive Committee was made up of Sebastián Fernández (Mexico), past president; Efraín Caballeros (Guatemala), first vice president; Jonathan Malagón (Colombia), second vice president; Víctor Rosales (Mexico), regional director of North America; Annerys Meléndez (Dominican Republic – Acoprovi ), regional director of the Caribbean.
It also includes Juan Manuel Meléndez (Guatemala), regional director for northern Central America; Mayela Rojas Solórzano (Costa Rica), regional director for southern Central America; Fernando González (Ecuador), regional director for northern South America; Gerardo Fernández (Argentina), regional director for southern South America; and Jorge Yarza , former president of the Union.
With this election, Ventura Castaños remains the fourth Dominican since 2011 to hold the presidency of the organization.
