SANTO DOMINGO. - Selling a property is not just a transaction: it's opening the door to new opportunities and a different future. With this vision, Indhira Desangles has built over 23 years of experience in the real estate sector, facing challenges, breaking paradigms, and consolidating a reputation that today translates into trust and leadership.
From the beginning, Desangles understood that, in a male-dominated sector, the biggest challenge would be demonstrating that knowledge and execution skills are gender-neutral. “I had to break down perception barriers, but I achieved it with tangible results and consistency. More than selling a product, I learned to sell my country, to showcase the strengths we have, which are often more valued abroad,” she says.
His company, Desangles Properties, specializing in corporate real estate, has achieved its position thanks to three fundamental pillars: technical expertise, ethics, and consistency. He maintains that the key lies in building long-term relationships and generating trust through effectiveness. “I’m not just looking to close deals, but to build a name that is synonymous with transparency and results.”.
Despite all her work, Indhira strives to balance family life with her job, which has also been a challenge, but she has achieved it by setting clear priorities. “My focus is God, then my family, and then work.”.
When projecting the future of the real estate sector in the Dominican Republic, Desangles is emphatic: “The corporate, logistics, and industrial market is experiencing rapid growth driven by nearshoring, the country's strategic location, and more sophisticated demand. This has increased both supply and requirements, generating a more specialized and competitive ecosystem.”.
In his view, technology has become an indispensable ally: from data analysis and virtual tours to economic evaluations and profitability studies. However, he emphasizes that “the key will always be the human touch, that personal connection that builds trust and makes all the difference.”.
To young women who dream of entering this market, she offers a fundamental piece of advice: get an education, specialize, and never stop learning. “This sector demands an impeccable reputation, consistency, and preparation. It’s like being a financial advisor: you have to study finance, real estate law, negotiation, marketing, even artificial intelligence, and always seek a good mentor.”.
When speaking of her legacy, her voice becomes firm and full of expressed conviction: “I want it to be said that I defended the interests of my clients as my own; that I was ethical, professional and efficient; and that I contributed to raising the standard of the corporate and industrial market in the Dominican Republic.”.
