The Airport Department (DA) and the Ministry of Tourism shone once again during the celebration of the EAA AirVenture 2025 aviation fair, the largest aviation gathering, which is held every year in the city of Oshkosh, Wisconsin state in the United States.
During the fair, which began on Monday the 21st and ended yesterday, Sunday the 27th, hundreds of people, including pilots and fans, gathered at the official stand, requesting information about different destinations in the country and the advantages of traveling there in their own aircraft.
The Dominican Republic's stand was visited by Charlie Becker, director of EAA AirVenture, who highly valued the commitment of the Dominican authorities to participate in this type of activity, a space that allows them to showcase the attractions that the country offers in the field of private aviation.
“It’s important to have them here showing how to get to the Dominican Republic and how we can make it more accessible every year,” Becker said.
Part of the efforts to attract more private aviation is the protocol for non-commercial private aviation, implemented through decree 259-23, an instrument that establishes the rules for receiving and dispatching aircraft.
These participations in trade fairs, along with the protocol, have allowed the country to increase the arrival of visitors of this type of aviation, whether individually or on international fly-ins.
EAA AirVenture has been held annually since 1953, and brings together more than 600,000 people, exhibiting around 10,000 aircraft.
