SANTO DOMINGO. –Businessmen Julián Gil and Yermys Peña launched a design competition for the creation of a dog park that will be part of a real estate development in Punta Cana, with the goal of involving architects, designers and creatives in the conceptualization of a unique space for the pet community and their owners.
According to a press release, the winner of the contest will receive a prize of $5,000. This space will not only be a recreational area for pets, but will also be a meeting point for the residents of Riviera Costeña, in a functional, safe and sustainable environment, the press document details.

The organizers seek to integrate innovative and creative ideas that reflect the talent of the participants and respond to the needs of both pets and their owners. Yermys Peña , for her part, is a Dominican architect and urban planner, a pioneer in sustainable design in the Dominican Republic. With over 20 years of experience, she has led numerous projects, including the region's first LEED Gold certified building, and continues to transform the urban landscape through her company, Construger.
