SANTO DOMINGO.- Banco BHD reported that it obtained the Tier III Built Facility (TCCF) global certification from the Uptime Institute , awarded to its data center for meeting the necessary design requirements and having an infrastructure that can handle essential tasks without interruptions, even during maintenance or unexpected failures.
Fidelio Arturo Despradel, CEO of Banco BHD, stated that "this accreditation represents an important step in our digital transformation strategy and a firm commitment to operational excellence, as it certifies that our data center meets the design requirements and was built according to the required technical specifications to ensure uninterrupted operation under various circumstances.".
This is the second time Banco BHD has received global accreditation confirming the security of its data center infrastructure. In 2023, the bank obtained Tier III certification from Design Documents . This was the first certification of its kind received by a financial institution in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean region, according to a press release.
"This new certification confirms that our technological infrastructure meets world-class standards to provide our clients with safer, more reliable, and more efficient services," said Despradel, who added that this accreditation is the result of teamwork by the Operations and Technology, and Administration and Finance departments.
The main benefits achieved after this certification are greater technical resilience, reduced operational risks, and sustainable expansion that considers future infrastructure growth, among others.
The Uptime Institute certifies organizations that demonstrate they offer premium data center services and robust technology services, with high standards of availability and security, aligned with international best practices.
