Banco Popular signs alliance with INTEC to provide internships to meritorious students

SANTO DOMINGO, DN. – Banco Popular Dominicano and the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo (INTEC) signed a strategic alliance to provide internships to outstanding undergraduate students from this university who demonstrate high academic and leadership potential.

To be eligible for the internship program, students will be evaluated and selected by INTEC under Banco Popular's internal policies.

As part of the agreement, the financial institution will inform INTEC about available internship vacancies or job offers they are offering at any given time, so that they can disseminate this information among their students and graduates.

The ultimate goal of this alliance with INTEC is to enrich the experience of students who access the internships and provide them with the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully meet the challenges of today's job market.

Open doors to young talent

The agreement was led by Antonia Antón de Hernández, Senior Executive Vice President of Human Resources, Cultural Transformation, Credit Administration and Compliance at Banco Popular, who expressed her satisfaction with this alliance, recalling that “since our founding 60 years ago, we have been a company with open doors for young talent, convinced that they are authentic drivers of the development of society with their energy, creativity and ethical values.”.

He stated that a clear example of this commitment to the country's youth is reflected in the numerous collaborative links with various educational institutions, which facilitate the permanent inclusion of young people in the institution's workforce.

For his part, Dr. Julio Sánchez Maríñez, rector of INTEC, said that “INTEC and Banco Popular have a long-standing relationship; they have supported us in many internal initiatives and more recently in the promotion of careers in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), mainly in the female sector,” Sánchez Maríñez explained.
