Apordom renews agreements with the Port Authority of Curaçao and signs an alliance with Panama

SANTO DOMINGO. – The Dominican Port Authority (Apordom) announced the renewal of its collaboration agreement with the Curacao Port Authority  (CPA) and a new alliance with the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) , during  business meetings held at the Seatrade trade show in Miami.

Apordom's CEO, Jean Luis Rodríguez, signed both agreements, with the aim of strengthening collaboration between the institutions in maritime operations information exchange , and joint promotion of cargo and cruise traffic.

The agreement, signed by Rodríguez and the general director of CPA, Humberto de Castro , will be valid for three years and seeks to promote port development through technical and commercial cooperation .

“Strengthening our relationships with strategic ports like Willemstad is key to boosting maritime trade and improving the services we offer to users,” Rodríguez emphasized during the signing of the agreement.

The commitments made by both port authorities include the exchange of statistical data , the implementation of best practices in health, safety, and operational efficiency , and the exploration of joint business opportunities . In addition, they will evaluate the possibility of creating tourist itinerary packages that promote the growth of the cruise sector in the region.

Panama

Regarding the second alliance, signed by the head of Apordom and Luis A. Roquebert V. , administrator of the Panama Maritime Authority, the parties commit to expanding and deepening their cooperation in the port and logistics sectors , according to the principles of equality and reciprocity .

five-year agreement also aims to promote trade in cruise and maritime transport , as well as to strengthen friendly relations between the two countries.

Both alliances establish the formation of technical working groups , joint participation in conventions , and collaboration in training for the development of human talent in the port sector.

The agreements with the Curaçao Port Authority and the Panama Maritime Authority are part of Apordom's efforts to consolidate strategic alliances that enhance the competitiveness of Dominican ports and contribute to the development of maritime trade in the Caribbean.
