Anarelys de la Cruz: The key is to “work with focus and honesty”

SANTO DOMINGO. - Anarelys de la Cruz is a real estate agent who understands that specialization is key to standing out in a demanding and competitive market. In her more than 16 years of experience, she has learned that the key to success lies in “working with focus, honesty, and personalized service.”

De la Cruz, who describes herself as a fighter and a natural salesperson, entered the real estate sector after selling her beauty salon due to an illness she suffered. “A friend, who is a real estate agent, approached me and said, 'Look, this business could be for you.'”.

This friend, who saw Anarelys' potential, became her driving force in putting her passion for serving others into practice. "She saw how I worked in the salon: I was the one who served the customers and always sold them things.".

He recalls that he started with a renowned real estate agent, who allowed him to gain experience over four years, during which he took advantage of every opportunity to train and learn the market's terminology. This knowledge enabled him to go from selling one-million-dollar apartments to selling entire buildings.

After several years, the marketing professional understood that it was time to start her own business and launched Anarelys Bienes Raíces as a broker-owner, where she has a team of more than 10 professionals from different areas.

“I formalized the business, got everything in order, and moved forward. When the pandemic hit, that was the peak, and everything took off on a grand scale,” he says, indicating that it is important to invest in staff, surround yourself with experts, and create strategies for growth.

In the beginning, he told himself, “Let me focus on one sector.” So he chose to work in Los Prados, where he managed to establish himself. Today, his portfolio includes the Central Polygon, projects in Punta Cana, and luxury properties in Santo Domingo.

For Anarelys, agents must understand that selling a property is about helping someone realize a dream. “It’s not like selling beans or anything like that. You’re selling something significant,” which requires a thorough process.

It recommends offering consistent follow-up to clients, whether through digital channels or personalized details. It also encourages recording testimonial videos that reflect the impact of the service provided.

She encourages women to strive for a balance between their personal and professional lives, as this has been a fundamental part of developing their work with excellence.
