SANTO DOMINGO. – The Dominican Association of Housing Builders and Developers (Acoprovi) announced that it will hold “Women Who Build 2025” tomorrow, Tuesday, March 18, an event that seeks to promote female leadership in the construction sector.
The purpose of the meeting is to recognize and enhance the fundamental role of women in the transformation of the construction sector, highlighting their contributions, leadership and impact on innovation and sustainable development of the industry.
It will be held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Santo Domingo, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Five prominent women in the sector will share their vision and experiences in this edition:
- Erminda Decena, president of the Association of Professional Women Micro, Small and Medium Business Owners of the Construction Sector (MUPYMECON), who has been a tireless advocate for the strengthening of MSMEs led by women in construction.
- Faride Sarraff, a civil engineer and MBA in Marketing and Commercial Management, is recognized for her ability to integrate engineering with commercial strategies that drive innovative and sustainable projects in the sector.
- Massiel Mejía, founder of MMAP (Massiel Mejía, Landscape Architecture), who has transformed landscape architecture with projects that promote sustainability and functionality in the design of urban and rural spaces.
- Ana Contreras, founder of ARCO.DO and member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Builders and Promoters of Works and Projects of the Dominican Republic (ACOSDE), who has been a pioneer in the implementation of sustainable practices in the planning and execution of urban projects.
- Marcelle Lama, founder of Marcelle Lama, a firm distinguished by its architectural approach that combines functional, aesthetic and environmentally responsible design.
The meeting will feature a series of activities that will enrich the experience of the participants, including a panel with experts from the sector, a motivational conference, training on MIPYMES Mujer certifications, inspiring testimonials from women leaders and a central speech that will highlight the importance of inclusion and gender equality in the industry.
Acoprovi reaffirms its commitment to promoting gender equality and continues working to create spaces that promote the participation of women in all areas of construction.
