The Dominican Agrarian Institute (IAD), together with the State Land Titling Technical Unit (UTECT), began the work of measuring plots, lots and houses in this municipality yesterday, Tuesday, within the National Program of Definitive Titling.
These works are projected to deliver 1,000 property title certificates, which will impact some 4,000 people who have been cultivating and living on these lands in the communities of Las Eneas, Los Ramones, El Proyecto and Belloso in the Luperón municipality for decades, a press release highlights.
In his keynote address, IAD Director General Francisco Guillermo García stated that when a poor family receives a definitive title, it gains access to financing from commercial banks, as well as the ability to start businesses and small companies.
“This type of activity demonstrates the commitment of President Luis Abinader’s government to ensure that every humble family occupying state land receives title to their property, thus providing them with the necessary support to escape poverty,” said Guillermo García.
For his part, the director of UTECT, Duarte Méndez, stated that the head of state has demonstrated that this National Titling Program is one of the central pillars of his government administration and that the delivery of these titles to humble people is one of the acts that pleases him the most.
Also present at the event held at the Belloso court, AMA project, were the mayor of the municipality, Israel Brito, and Fiordaliza Marte, deputy to the National Congress for that district.
Accompanying the Director General from the IAD were the Administrative and Financial Director, Roberto Ovalles; the head of the Definitive Title Program, Isidro Ramírez; the Regional Manager for Cibao Norte, Freddy Gómez; and Guarionex Barrientos, head of the Puerto Plata Division, among others.
