Punta Cana International Airport is the first airport in the country to achieve this recognition and maintain it for six consecutive years, establishing itself as one of the top 10 airports in Latin America and the most important in the insular Caribbean.
PUNTA CANA. - For the sixth consecutive year, Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) was recognized as the "best airport by size and region" in the category of 5 to 15 million passengers in the Caribbean and Latin America, an award given by Airport Service Quality (ASQ).
The Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards represent the highest recognition for airport operators and distinguish the best airports in the world for their excellence in management and service, according to a traveler satisfaction survey conducted by the Airports Council International (ACI), explains a statement posted on the PUJ website.
They also stated that the airport received the "Voice of Customer Recognition" and the "Airport Health Accreditation" awarded by the Airports Council International (ACI), the latter for the second consecutive year.
“This recognition is the result of the hard work of our airport community, which strives every day to offer our visitors a safe and pleasant travel experience. With the upcoming expansion of Terminal B, we continue to invest in the country's economic growth. This investment will further strengthen the excellent service we offer our passengers,” said Frank Elías Rainieri , Director.

Terminal B Expansion
Punta Cana Airport is currently undergoing an expansion project, with an investment of US$80 million, which will allow it to handle 3 million passengers. This project will cover an area of 25,000 square meters and will include seven gates and seven air bridges. Construction is estimated to be completed by November 2022. The expansion is being carried out by local architects and engineers.
