SANTO DOMINGO – The Dominican Association of Housing Builders and Developers ( ACOPROVI ) signed an inter-institutional collaboration with the Superintendency of Electricity (SIE), with the aim of promoting the training of electrician technicians and assistants who work in interior electrical installations and low and medium voltage networks in buildings.
The agreement seeks to strengthen the technical skills of personnel linked to the electrical area in the construction sector , raising the standards of quality, efficiency and safety in the country's electrical installations.
The signing of the agreement was led by the Superintendent of Electricity, Andrés Astacio , and the President of the Board of Directors of ACOPROVI, Annerys Meléndez.
During the event, Superintendent Astacio explained that this alliance will allow the development of a public registry of certified technicians, which will make it easier for companies to hire only properly trained personnel , thus reducing the risk of using unskilled labor.
Through a post on its Instagram account, the SIE explained that this registration aims to ensure that electrical service providers have professionals with the appropriate training and a high level of professionalism to carry out the work.
For her part, Annerys Meléndez highlighted that the agreement represents a significant step towards improving the quality of labor in the construction sector , promoting safe and professional practices in the country's buildings.
They also emphasized that this set is part of the initiatives that both entities are developing to promote technical training, electrical safety and the professionalization of the construction sector in the Dominican Republic .
