SANTO DOMINGO.- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) will close various overpasses and bridges in Greater Santo Domingo to vehicular traffic from Tuesday, November 12th to Saturday, November 16th, for maintenance purposes.
Closing times begin at 10:00 PM and will continue until work is completed.
MOPC brigades will collect solid waste, aggregates, control weeds, clean the environment and drainage, both in lower and interior areas.
This Tuesday night, the following roads will be closed: Luperón Avenue with 30 de Mayo Highway, 27 de Febrero Avenue, John F. Kennedy Avenue with Winston Churchill Avenue (in both directions), Doctor Fernando Defilló Avenue, Charles de Gaulle Avenue with the San Isidro Highway and with Mella Highway.
On Wednesday, the closures will be in the Ortega y Gasset Avenue tunnel, the Ortega y Gasset and 27 de Febrero underpasses; Máximo Gómez and Duarte Avenue, the Máximo Gómez and Nicolás de Ovando overpasses, and the 27 de Febrero and Ortega y Gasset overpasses, as well as the Ozama and Gregorio Luperón bridges.
Wednesday and Thursday correspond to the overpass at John F. Kennedy Avenue with Núñez de Cáceres.
On Thursday there will be closures on the Jacobo Majluta bridge (near the entrance to Guaricanos), the overpasses on the Sánchez highway with Independencia Avenue (Kilometer 12), the Quinto Centenario Expressway with Duarte Avenue, Hermanos Pinzón Street, and San Martín Avenue, and the underpass on Konrad Adenauer Avenue with Hermanas Mirabal.
Meanwhile, the John F. Kennedy Avenue overpass at Núñez de Cáceres will be closed on Thursday and Friday.
On Friday, there will be closures on the bridges of the 6 de Noviembre highway, Ramón Matías Mella, Francisco del Rosario Sánchez and Sánchez road, the overpasses of Prolongación 27 de Febrero with the 6 de Noviembre highway, and Avenida Padre Castellanos with Francisco del Rosario Sánchez.
Also, to the control centers of the tunnels on Ortega y Gasset Avenue, Las Américas Avenue and 27 de Febrero Avenue.
Only on Saturday will the overpasses of the John F. Kennedy Expressway with Luperón Avenue (Kilometer 9), Duarte Highway at Kilometer 13 with Prolongación 27 de Febrero; República de Colombia Avenue, at Kilometer 14, and San Vicente de Paul Avenue with Venezuela be closed.
