SANTO DOMINGO. -The Emergency Operations Center (COE) reported this Monday morning that the death toll during the Holy Week Operation “Conscience for Life 2025”, which began on Holy Thursday, has reached 32.
According to the institution's report, 30 of the deaths were due to traffic accidents and two were drownings. There were 212 traffic collisions in the country, affecting 246 people.
In the latest report released this Monday morning, the COE indicated that alcohol poisoning affected 587 people, including 25 minors between the ages of 7 and 17.
In the third bulletin from the COE, it was explained that 182 people were poisoned by alcohol consumption, five of whom are minors, and another 78 were poisoned by food consumption.
Authorities provided 9,635 roadside assistance services and 1,229 medical and health assistance services.

Vehicles
The COE previously reported that the General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transportation (Digesett) inspected 11,789 vehicles for violating Law 63-17, including 3,875 motorcyclists for driving without a protective helmet, 1,706 drivers for not having a license or driving with an expired one, 1,541 for driving without insurance, 539 for violating the red light at traffic lights, 418 for not using the seat belt and another 265 for driving without lights on their vehicles.
He added that they also impounded 4,430 motorcycles, 144 light vehicles, and 90 heavy vehicles for driving without a permit.
Third bulletin
The third bulletin from the COE indicated that the Military and Police Commission of the Ministry of Public Works provided 745 roadside assistance services, which included tire changes, fuel supply, assistance in traffic accidents, towing, and mechanical assistance, among other activities on highways and main roads in the territory.
The Tourist Police (Politur) provided medical assistance to eight people and located eleven lost minors, who were found and handed over to their parents.
For its part, the Civil Defense assisted 32 people in the different provinces, which consisted of care for headaches, traumas, high blood pressure and alcohol poisoning, and carried out 35 roadside assistance and located a lost minor and handed him over to his parents.
In addition, he rescued seven people from the sea waters on the beaches of Miches, in El Seibo; Juan Dolio, in San Pedro de Macorís; and Rincón, Las Galeras and Arroyo Barril, in Samaná.
