It was announced that there will be a total closure this Wednesday and Thursday in the long tunnel of Las Américas Avenue.
SANTO DOMINGO. -The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) closed several structures located in Greater Santo Domingo, including overpasses and bridges, from Tuesday until Saturday, January 6, in order to carry out maintenance work.
In all cases, closing times are from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following day. The work to be performed includes solid waste collection, sweeping and debris removal, weed control, general cleaning of the surrounding area, and drainage cleaning.
From Tuesday until Thursday, the underpass at the intersection of Avenida 27 de Febrero and Doctor Fernando Defilló and Carmen Mendoza de Cornielle streets will be completely closed.
Also on Tuesday, the control centers of the Ortega y Gasset-UASD tunnel, the Las Américas avenue, and the operational control of the long tunnel of 27 de Febrero with Abraham Lincoln and Winston Churchill were closed.
Similarly, there was a total closure of the overpasses on John F. Kennedy Avenue with Núñez de Cáceres, Kennedy Avenue with Doctor Defilló, the underpass on 27 de Febrero Avenue with Máximo Gómez, and the long tunnel on 27 de Febrero Avenue with Lincoln and Churchill Avenues.
For today, Wednesday, the closures correspond to the overpasses of 27 de Febrero with Doctor Defilló and Carmen Mendoza, 27 de Febrero with Núñez de Cáceres, 27 de Febrero with Privado, marginal Las Américas avenue, the Kennedy with Lope de Vega and Tiradentes overpasses, Kennedy with Lincoln, marginal tunnel of Las Américas avenue.
The Kennedy overpass at Máximo Gómez will be closed on Tuesdays, and from Thursday to Saturday.
Tomorrow, Thursday, the closure will be for the overpasses of 27 de Febrero with Ortega y Gasset, Avenida Las Américas with Estados Unidos (Los Tres Ojos), Kennedy with Ortega y Gasset, the underpasses or dry bridges of Avenida Ecológica with marginal Las Américas, Juan Carlos bridge, Charles de Gaulle with Ecológica, and 27 de Febrero with Tiradentes.
On Friday, the same will be done with the overpasses of the Las Américas highway with José Francisco Peña Gómez (Boca Chica), Las Américas with Puerto Caucedo road (dry bridge), Las Américas (Andrés, Boca Chica), Las Américas with 7/6 street (La Caleta), Las Américas with Route 66 (East-South), Las Américas with Route 66 (South-West), Las Américas with Hípica.
Also the Santo Domingo-Samaná overpass, the Jubey-Boca Chica road (dry bridge), and the Núñez de Cáceres tunnel, 27 de Febrero with Tiradentes.
On Saturday, the overpasses on the Santo Domingo-Samaná highway, the Expreso Quinto Centenario with Tunti Cáceres street, with Peña Batlle street, and the Máximo Gómez overpass with Nicolás de Ovando will be closed.
