President Luis Abinader yesterday, Saturday, delivered 394 new property titles to the same number of families, which translates into a benefit for 1,600 people in the municipality of Ramón Santana, in San Pedro de Macorís.
This is the first delivery security and peace to the beneficiaries by providing them with documents that accredit them as owners of land on which they built their homes and work to guarantee their livelihood.
Addressing those present, President Abinader reiterated that land titling is one of the most important public policies and one with which he feels the greatest satisfaction. It represents the greatest expression of social justice and triples the value of these properties.
He recalled that for decades, the lack of property titles has been an injustice in Latin America, leaving people "in a legal limbo" and without security for their assets . And today, the Dominican Republic is gradually reversing that reality, building a path toward a formal economy .

"And with these degrees we are closing the inequality gap, while recognizing the value of those who worked hard to build their lives and dreams brick by brick, so this delivery of certificates is more than just a document, it is a symbol of hope, but also of change, and it is the certainty that no one should be left out or any family forgotten," the president stated.
Maura Aurosa Celeste , representing the beneficiaries, thanked the government for making it possible for them to obtain documents that prove ownership of the land where they live and work .
For his part, Duarte Méndez , executive director of the State Land Titling Technical Unit, indicated that these works save the beneficiaries a total of RD 31,520,000.00.
He stated that they are currently working on finding a legal solution outstanding degree certificates .
The blessing was given by Father Alberto Ortiz , from the Immaculate Conception parish.
