President Luis Abinader 1,800 property this weekend 7,200 people in the municipality of Quisqueya, in San Pedro de Macorís , after considering it to be "a dream that is becoming a reality."
The action, carried out by the State Land Titling Technical Unit (UTECT), in coordination with the State Sugar Council (CEA) and the Real Estate Jurisdiction , is an initiative that is part of the Government's program to regularize land tenure and guarantee legal security to hundreds of families.
The president reiterated that the delivery of the certificates is the best birthday celebration he could have, "solving problems and delivering titles," he said regarding the celebration of his birthday.
He emphasized the satisfaction he feels in being able to grant the titles to the lands that for years have been the foundation of the homes that shelter their dreams and the space to earn a living for their families.
He reiterated that, by owning the land, the properties acquire greater value and become formal subjects of bank credit and an asset to leave to their descendants.
He said that work is underway to provide the remaining families with property titles, so that no resident of Quisqueya is left without the documents that prove they own the lands where they have lived for years.
“So that here in Quisqueya, everyone has their property titles,” the head of state emphasized.
This is the second delivery of title certificates that the president has made in the municipality of Quisqueya, fulfilling his promise to continue changing lives in the province of San Pedro de Macorís, a note from the Presidency highlights.
This phase covers a geographic area of 386,476.60 square meters 1,000 families benefited over 20,000 land titles have been issued making it the province that has benefited the most from this government initiative.
Nancy Cristina Rodríguez , who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, emphasized that the president returned to the community to deliver the property titles he had promised.
For his part, the executive director of UTECT, Duarte Méndez Peña , thanked the community leadership of the town, the civil and municipal authorities of the province who collaborated and believed in this project, because without their support and faith, this moment would not be happening.
“This effort has not only a legal or patrimonial impact, but also an economic one. The work carried out has meant a collective savings of RD$144,000,000.00 for the beneficiary families, resources that they would have had to invest if this process had been done privately, and today, thanks to the commitment of President Luis Abinader, they receive these titles completely free of charge,” Méndez Peña stated.
He stated that this delivery does not signify the end of his work, but rather the continuation of a firm commitment to the people.
“There are still families waiting for their land titles, and from our Unit we will continue to make every effort to ensure that every Dominican living on state-owned land has their title in hand, without obstacles or excuses,” he said.
The event, held at the Quisqueya multipurpose center, was attended by Rafael Burgos, Director General of National Assets, the CEA and Corde; Yovanny Baltazar, Governor of San Pedro de Macorís; Aracelis Villanueva Figueroa , Senator of San Pedro de Macorís; Carlos Melo, Mayor of the municipality of Quisqueya; the deputies, Miguel Arredondo, Carlixta Carolina Paula and Jacobo Ramos, and Robert Polanco , Director of Strategic and Special Projects of the Presidency (Propeep).
Also present were Héctor Mirambeaux , Director General of the National Cadastre; Nelson Arroyo , Executive Vice President of Banreservas Insurance; Rubén Céspedes, Regional Deputy Director for the East of the State Land Titling Technical Unit; Rivera Amador Amador, Deputy Director of the Dominican Agrarian Institute, representing Francisco G.
