SANTO DOMINGO - The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic announced yesterday, Tuesday, that a new RD$1,000 bill will begin circulating in the country on the 18th of this month, with an issue date of 2021.
He stated that this banknote was ordered through an international public tender in January 2021 and that it has the same security features as the other banknotes of the same denomination (RD$1,000) currently in circulation.

The entity released the information through a notice that also indicates that these banknotes "will maintain their legal tender status for the payment of all public and private obligations.".
Likewise, it asks the public who want more information to contact the institution through its platform bancocentra.gov.do and on its social networks of Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
