"The main objective of the program is to give graduates of the Civil Engineering degree from different educational institutions the opportunity to enter the labor market and implement their knowledge for the benefit of the country.".
SANTO DOMINGO.- With the hiring of 21 young civil engineering students, the Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (MIVHED) launched its first cohort of the "My Housing Internship" program, which seeks to offer recent graduates from the country's universities the opportunity to gain experience.
These are young men and women with high academic standing, from various universities across the country, who are being offered their first employment opportunity through the plan implemented by the entity responsible for overseeing government housing programs.

"The main objective of the Mi Vivienda Internship program is to give graduates of Civil Engineering from different educational institutions the opportunity to enter the labor market and implement their knowledge for the benefit of the country, thus building a better future for Dominicans," says a statement from the institution.
The selection of interns is carried out jointly by the engineering school of each university and the Human Resources department of MIVHED.

Minister Carlos Bonilla said that the "My Home Internship" program provides young engineers with a formidable experience in their field of study, carried out throughout the national territory, in both rural and urban areas, where they will have the opportunity to work as a team, alongside construction veterans.
The new interns will develop their skills in various projects of the "My Housing Plan" that is being implemented by MIVHED.

José Ignacio Matos, a graduate of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) and an intern with the Mi Vivienda Ciudad Modelo project, stated that the internship is important because nowadays, to enter the workforce, experience is always required, and this program gives them the opportunity to be part of engineering itself and allows them to apply the theoretical knowledge learned at the university.
Entry to the program for those who wish to participate remains open, and the requirements continue to be being a recent graduate of the Civil Engineering program from any university in the country, having a minimum academic index of 3.0, submitting a curriculum vitae and possessing Dominican nationality.
