The event was led by the governor of Pedernales, Edirda de Óleo , who highlighted the importance of raising awareness among authorities and the population about the necessary measures to address seismic vulnerability, and thereby reduce the impact of a significant seismic event.

“It is essential that our buildings have resilient structures that guarantee the safety of citizens,” the official stated.
