Margarita Pasos: Treat your customers the way they would like to be treated

SANTO DOMINGO.- The well-known phrase "treatothers as you would like to be treated" is an uncertain golden rule for life coach Margarita Pasos, who affirms that the platinum rule that should be applied is "treat the client as they like to be treated."

The prominent Colombian woman, who was in charge of closing the 4th International Congress of the Association of Real Estate Agents and Companies (AEI), stated that money is made by working.

“Your cash register starts working when you start talking to people. Income is vanity, and profit is health,” he explained, addressing the 700 real estate agents who filled the grand ballroom of the Catalonia Hotel.

For Pasos, the mind is like a machine for creating meaning. A triangle of emotions: event, emotion, and decision. “Don’t say or think anything about yourself that you don’t want to see come true. If you don’t have clear goals, they’ve already arrived, or any path will do,” he commented.

He asked the real estate agents to focus only on what they can control: thoughts, actions, focus, and their emotional, mental, and physical well-being. “Change the words and the meaning changes. Change problems into opportunities, arguments into debates,” he asserted, motivating those present to shift their lives toward a positive approach, maintaining that “words are the seeds the mind sows.”.

The higher the emotional intelligence, the greater the opportunity for growth, he opined. “The quality of your life depends on the quality of your questions. By changing the questions, your life changes; the mind is a self-regulating organism.”.

He recommended having a big vision, “because the size of your mind determines the size of your business. Know how to identify the types of clients to adapt, and set boundaries. Never compare. The person you clash with is the one who complements you.”.

Break through your mental ceilings, she advised, citing phrases that should be left aside such as "I don't like to sell, I'm not good with networks or technology, money is bad, scarce, difficult.".

Margarita Pasos suggests setting a challenging goal. “State 'I am selling' in the present tense, and raise the goal by 30 or 50%. Having a mission and clarity is power. The reason why things are done is the fuel; it's the most important thing,” she said.

“Write down 5 positive reasons why you will achieve your goal and 5 negative consequences if you don't. The mind does more to avoid pain; ultimately, it will write down the 'how.' Write down your most valuable activities, those with the greatest impact on achieving your goals, and decide to invest substantial time in them every day.”.

He concluded by leaving the audience with a quote from Gandhi: “I do not let anyone walk through my mind with dirty shoes.” Your mind is your sacred apartment, he added.
