SANTO DOMINGO.- President Luis Abinader announced yesterday, Monday, that for the first time in history, it is known with precision that there are more than 40,000 identified state assets , in quantity and location, and more than 3 million tareas (approximately 1,000 in different provinces.
The president highlighted that for the first time in history, this government carried out the first national census of real estate owned by the Dominican State , which was conducted in June 2023.
“This effort allowed us to know precisely the quantity and location of state assets, with more than 40,000 identified,” the governor noted.
He indicated that to date 117,000 property titles , benefiting more than 463,000 people.
This information was provided by President Abinader during the weekly press conference , held every Monday in the Las Cariátides hall of the National Palace, which was titled “In Defense of State Heritage”.

The head of state also stated that progress has been made in land regulation in order to guarantee legal security for thousands of families.
He also reported that, in the Ingenio Esperanza 819 property titles have been granted .
Furthermore, he indicated that through Decree 35-21, the Financial Autonomy of UTEC was created , a specialized entity to facilitate and expedite this process.
Recovery and regulation of real estate
He also explained that 233 plots , as well as more than 3 million tareas in different provinces , "ensuring their proper management and protection."
were reorganized to improve citizen services , and four new buildings currently under construction in Santiago, Barahona, La Vega, and Bonao.
It was indicated that there was a significant reduction in operating and administrative costs , "up to 80% in monthly rent payments."
Resource optimization and restructuring
were implemented to streamline and strengthen financial management , such as staff salaries and contributions, payments of court judgments, labor benefits and acquired rights, and investments in machinery and infrastructure.
Similarly, loans from past administrations were paid, incentives to settlers for drought, management of materials and supplies and management of assets, furniture, real estate and intangibles.
State land

Projections and future projects
The president announced the construction of industrial parks and free trade zones in several regions of the country, in collaboration with the private sector.
In Puerto Plata, the Imbert and Montellano ; in Santo Domingo , the San Luis ; in Barahona the Barahona industrial park; and in San Pedro de Macorís Consuelo industrial park . These projects aim to generate jobs and boost the local economy.
