The properties are located in the Barrio Panchito, Callejón Panchito, Barrio Militar La Fortaleza and Villa Progreso sectors, in the municipality of Santa Bárbara de Samaná.
In Samaná, the Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza , led the ceremony yesterday, Friday, to deliver more than 300 property title certificates to families from different communities in that province as part of the Samaná II Titling Project , promoted by the Dominican Government.
“These titles not only represent legal security, but also a profound change in the lives of each family. They signify freedom, stability, access to credit, and above all, dignity,” the minister stated.
During the activity, Paliza acknowledged the work of Duarte Méndez Peña , executive director of the State Land Titling Technical Unit (UTECT) , and Rafael Abrahán Burgos Gómez , director of National Assets , for the joint work that has allowed this program to reach multiple communities in the country.
For his part, Méndez Peña explained that the initiative responds to a promise from the Government to guarantee formal property ownership to hundreds of Dominican families.
“The title they receive today opens doors to new opportunities, strengthens their family legacy, and transforms their lives. I am deeply grateful to Minister Paliza for his unwavering support in expediting these processes, as well as to the Real Estate Jurisdiction and the General Directorate of National Assets for their technical and legal assistance,” the official stated.
302 homes and plots of land were titled , of which 256 corresponded to beneficiaries who had not been able to complete their files within the framework of the Samaná II Project.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Ms. Dilania King Acosta expressed her gratitude to President Abinader's government: “Today we give thanks for fulfilling a dream that for years seemed unattainable. Having our papers in hand means having peace, it means having a future.”
The event took place in the Assembly Hall of the Provincial Government and was attended by Rafael Burgos Gómez , Director General of National Assets, the CEA and the Corde; Teodora Mullix, Provincial Governor; Senator Pedro Catrain ; Héctor Mirambeaux , Director of the National Cadastre; Nelson Antonio Núñez , Mayor of the municipality of Santa Bárbara; Deputies Cecilio García and Luis Freddy Guzmán; as well as Francisco Sandoval , Regional Deputy Director Northeast of the UTECT.
