In Santiago de los Caballeros, in the La Yaguita de Pastor , President Luis Abinader yesterday delivered 537 property titles to residents of this area of the Heart City, within a plan that involves more than 122,000 square meters.
The action is part of the land titling program that seeks to empower families in need, "as a way of bringing social justice, hope and transformation to communities," highlights a press release from the Presidency.
“This project is part of a silent but powerful revolution, which we have undertaken with actions, not speeches. A revolution of dignity, security, and progress,” the president stated while handing over the land titles.
He explained that a property title means legal security, protection, greater value of their properties, and access to formal credit to invest in and improve their homes.
The project includes a total of 1,055 property titles , of which 518 are still pending, explains the press release.
Méndez , the executive director of the State Land Titling Technical Unit (UTECT) , said that they will continue working hard to ensure that every family receives their title and to resolve various legal and administrative
According to the Presidency, the collective savings of the beneficiaries exceed RD$84,400,000.00 . These titles belong to plots 197, 198 and 199 of Cadastral District No. 07, representing more than 122,000 square meters.
In addition to UTECT, the General Directorate of National Assets and the Real Estate Jurisdiction are involved in the program.

“Mr. President, I want to thank you on behalf of all the beneficiaries. You have done what no other president has done: remember a forgotten neighborhood, a marginalized neighborhood that was unknown… and today it is a neighborhood that the world recognizes, thanks to your effort and your will,” he emphasized, on behalf of the beneficiaries.
