He projected a fully digitized scenario for 2050, in which public records will have to function in an interconnected ecosystem.
During the XXII edition of CADER SUNARP 2024, the Real Estate Registry, through the National Directorate of Cadastral Surveys, shared its vision on the future of public registries, highlighting digital transformation as the key driver of this process.
In the presentation “Vision of public registries in 2050”, Ridomil A. Rojas Ferreyra, National Director of Cadastral Surveys, emphasized how the digitization and modernization of public registries will not only improve efficiency, but will also guarantee greater transparency and legal security.
Rojas envisioned a fully digitized world by 2050, in which public registries will have to operate in an interconnected ecosystem, using advanced technological tools such as artificial intelligence.
As he explained, the digital transformation will not be limited to the simple digitization of files, but will include a total integration that optimizes registration and cadastral processes, reducing costs and times, which will result in greater agility and accuracy in the procedures.
The official also highlighted the importance of adopting electronic services as the general rule for property procedures, eliminating the need to physically go to offices for processes such as buying, selling or modifying land.
Despite this digital approach, Rojas emphasized the importance of maintaining dual access, where citizens can choose between online or in-person service. "It's essential to combine the best of both worlds: technological efficiency with in-person support for those who prefer human contact," she stated.
In his virtual participation in this event held in Peru, the national director of Cadastral Surveys also addressed the risks that could affect the public registry system by 2050, such as quantum computing, data obsolescence, and economic factors.
