A group of companies, led by the developer Pragma Capital, traveled last week to the San Antonio community in La Vega province to provide assistance to families affected by the fire that completely destroyed two homes and damaged a third.
Among the victims of the disaster, which occurred last Wednesday, June 4th, is the renowned vegan communicator Rosalía Rodríguez who, along with another family, lost her home completely.
Julio Cabrera, president of Pragma Capital, led a team of engineers who assessed the damage and announced that the company will provide the labor for the reconstruction of the homes, in addition to supplying building materials. The total financial support exceeds half a million pesos.
Engineer Cabrera also secured the support of colleagues and business owners in the construction sector, who contributed significantly. Among them, he highlighted engineer Carolina Pujols, who committed to directing the project; Ferretería Bellón, which will donate 1,000 six-inch blocks; JH Alambre, which will contribute electrical materials; Recurso Ferretero, which will support the effort with 20,000 pesos worth of sand and gravel; Agregados de Mora León, which contributed 100,000 pesos worth of materials; and Suplidora Hawai, which will contribute with the donation of three stoves for the affected families.
“We are deeply grateful to the business leaders who joined this cause. This swift and committed response demonstrates that when the private sector acts with compassion, great things can be achieved,” said the president of Pragma.
Other contributions
The communicator Scarlet Ramirez, on behalf of other public and private entities, reported that the La Vega Governorate assumed responsibility for equipping these homes with appliances, the Mayor's Office will support with bedroom sets, Pintureca will take care of the painting, and the businessman Agustín Burgos will also contribute financially.
Similarly, Ramírez reported that Microvision Canal 10 has made its facilities available as a collection center to receive donations of kitchen utensils, sheets, towels, chairs, tables and other materials that may be useful to the affected families.
This collective effort not only responds to an emergency, but also reaffirms the active role of Pragma Capital, its allies and other entities, in building more resilient and supportive communities.
