He invented the anchoring plug, known as the 'Fisher plug,' an expanding plastic component that sparked a revolution in the construction industry. To this day, 14 million units are manufactured daily.
"There is probably a Fischer fixing plug on your wall," one of the inventions that boosted the career of the famous German businessman Artur Fischer, who at just 19 years old began his passion for creation and then started his own company.

With more than 1,500 patents and utility models registered, Fisher was recognized by the European Patent Office as " the most successful inventor of all time".
The businessman, who died in 2016, founded fischer in 1948, a global company headquartered in Germany that currently has a presence in 38 countries with 50 subsidiaries and distribution in more than 120 nations.
The year 1949 was one of the most decisive in his career; during this period he invented one of the most revolutionary devices of the time: the synchronized flash of cameras that illuminated and allowed greater clarity in photos, which was also the first of his inventions to be patented.
Ten years later, he delighted the world with his second great invention: the anchoring plug, known as the 'Fisher plug,' an expanding plastic component that sparked a revolution in the construction industry. To this day, 14 million units are manufactured daily.
Fisher dedicated most of his life to his favorite pastime: creating and finding solutions to problems. From bottle holders and CD racks to car glove compartments, steel anchors, drills, cement-aggregate mortars, and even air conditioning vents, these products are part of the extensive portfolio of the Fischer consortium, which until the end of last year had 5,400 employees worldwide.
His contributions to German industry have established him as "an illustrious citizen and a true entrepreneur" who brought worldwide fame to Waldachtal-Tumlingen, a town in the Black Forest of southern Germany. The number of patents registered by the inventor represents 20 times more patents per employee than the average for the local industry.
His company, founded after World War II, is currently run by his son Klaus Fischer, since 1980. It markets plugs, fixing systems and sealants for the construction and residential industries; but also components for automotive interiors, process consulting and electronic systems.
