More than 360 players, a high-level social agenda and the participation of the country's leading brands marked the most recent edition of the Adozona Business & Golf Weekend 2025, which concluded successfully at the Corales course of Puntacana Resort & Club.
Organized by the Dominican Association of Free Zones (Adozona), this business meeting becomes a national benchmark that articulates valuable relationships between leaders of the productive sector and promotes economic and social development in an environment of collaboration and excellence.
“This tournament represents a great opportunity to strengthen relationships, share ideas and project a common vision for the growth of the sector,” highlighted Claudia Pellerano, president of Adozona, during the awards ceremony.
The competition was played in a scramble format for pairs, and crowned Freddy Almonte and Michael Cuello as overall champions, who achieved an outstanding gross score of 65 strokes, including a hole-in-one by Cuello on the 9th hole of the course, executed with a 9 iron from 156 yards.
In Category A: César Rodríguez and Freddy Rodríguez – 66 strokes; Category B: José Clase and Pantaleón Salcedo – 70 strokes; Category C: Joel Miqueo and Manuel Rivas – 68 strokes; and Ladies Category: Katherine Méndez and Josefina Pichardo – 75.9 strokes
In addition to the sporting and business component, Adozona Business & Golf Weekend has a strong social focus, allocating part of its resources to community initiatives that benefit vulnerable populations, reaffirming the sector's commitment to inclusive development.
The meeting also offered a carefully curated social agenda that included the Welcome Party at the Corales Clubhouse, the traditional Adozona Cigar Night on the beach at the Westin Hotel, and an awards dinner enlivened by a vibrant musical show by merengue singer Manny Cruz, who brought the festive touch to a night of celebration, camaraderie and shared achievements.
