NISIBÓN, LA ALTAGRACIA PROVINCE - President Luis Abinader yesterday, Thursday, delivered 723 property titles in the municipal district of Nisibón, out of 1,710 titles in its first stage, where the same number of people will benefit.
This is the first land title distribution by President Abinader in his new four-year term, which began on August 16th. The following communities will benefit from this titling project: Batey Las Guamas, Buenos Aires, Centro del Pueblo, El Peñón, La Gallera, La Laguna, Las Minas, Los Callejones, Suizo, and Yonú Abajo, according to a press release from the Presidency.
With the delivery of property title certificates today, President Abinader continues to expand the coverage of beneficiaries nationwide, which already exceeds 100,000 and has the goal, in these next four years, of delivering 300,000 new property titles, the document emphasizes.
During the event, the president pointed out that the families benefiting from the property titles are the protagonists of these acts and for whom the Government works every day to bring social justice.

In that sense, he said that the families had a de facto property, but not a de jure one, and that with the delivery of their titles they will leave with a de jure property and it will have much more value.
The head of state called on churches and neighborhood associations to act as mediators so that all 1,710 land titles for this project can be delivered, but only 723 will be delivered because, for various reasons, not all the beneficiary families could be located or could agree.
He stated that today, approximately 6,800 people will be able to experience a more secure and promising future. “And that is what we seek, that is what we pursue, and that is why the government is investing in obtaining these titles to give them to you, so that from today your life will be different, it will be better.”.
He said he monitors the titling projects weekly from the National Palace because he understands how it changes the lives of families and elderly people who have lived in these homes for years. "And finally, they'll be able to say, 'I have the title to my house, I have the title to my home, I have the title to my property.' That's a treasure.".
So that Dominicans can live peacefully and legally
For his part, the executive director of the State Land Titling Technical Unit, Duarte Méndez, reported that to make this dream a reality, the Technical Unit, together with the Dominican Agrarian Institute, worked on a geographical area of 793,609.20 square meters.
"The President of the Republic is interested in ensuring that everyone who has struggled to build a family and has managed to settle on state-owned land can live peacefully and legally, through the titling of state-owned land, and today that great goal is being achieved," said Duarte Méndez.
