Another hotel is being added to the offerings in Pedernales, the southern region where the current government has launched one of its main development initiatives. “The Ocean Front La Quinta,” a family-oriented establishment, will be built on the city's waterfront, with an opening projected for 2025.
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Fermont Group, and Grupo De Valle announced an agreement to develop the 110-room hotel. Edward De Valle II, representative of Grupo De Valle, stated that this alliance is possible because the participants believe in the development project for the southern region, promoted by President Luis Abinader, which includes the construction of 12,000 hotel rooms in the Pedernales area over the next ten years.
La Quinta, a beachfront hotel, will focus on family, and in addition to a lobby bar with workspaces, a pool, a restaurant and grill by the sea, it will have play areas and activities for children, family rooms for four people, single and double rooms and six suites.
“The Ocean Front La Quinta Pedernales” will emphasize sustainable comfort, blending its infrastructure with the surrounding environment, native flora and fauna, and connecting guests with the idyllic beaches and the natural surroundings, said Edward De Valle II, president of Grupo De Valle
"The future hotel marks a milestone for the Wyndham Hotels brand, and welcomes a new and highly sought-after destination to its portfolio in the Dominican Republic with Grupo De Valle and its regional partners," he said.
This project, Del Valle points out, will add value to the government's development plans because it provides a necessary hotel product "that is generally forgotten in the development of tourist areas.".

The Fairmont, SRL company, Grupo De Valle, Estrella & Tupete, and Wyndham Exclusive Development Partners are currently building a “La Quinta” hotel in Puerto Plata, scheduled to open in the fall of 2024.
Last March, Grupo De Valle and Estrella & Tupete, with the presence of Vice President Raquel Peña, began the development of the La Quinta San Francisco de Macorís project.
With this establishment, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and Grupo De Valle join the tourism development project launched last year by President Abinader in Cabo Rojo, Pedernales, near the famous "Bahía de las Águilas" beach.
In Cabo Rojo, construction has already begun on the tourism infrastructure and the first three hotels. Additionally, improvements are being made to the road network, the aqueduct, and the sewage system, and the construction of an international airport is underway. The development also includes upgrading the Cabo Rojo port to serve as a cruise terminal.
