Last week, the world's most popular accommodation platform launched "Airbnb 2022, Summer Launch," with a revolutionary homepage redesign that includes 56 accommodation categories distributed so that visitors can choose the one that suits their needs, some unique and unimaginable.
This is the biggest change Airbnb has made in a decade, its founders explained in a statement released to announce the launch. One of the new categories added by the company is design, which includes more than 20,000 accommodations selected for their architectural and interior style.
All were selected from six million accommodations currently owned by hosts, as the people who list their properties on the platform are called; distributed in more than 100,000 cities in 220 countries.
During the week, El Inmobiliario echoed the launch, publishing several installments about the new features presented by this tool, which is increasingly positioning itself as a revolutionary alternative that attracts investors and individuals who see it as a real option to generate income.
For visitors, the options to live the adventure of their dreams have been made available with the immense variety of house models available for you to choose from as you please and vary the way you vacation, with endless alternatives to break from the everyday routine.
Airbnb has transformed the way people travel around the world, and in the post-pandemic era, it is reaffirming itself as a real option for remote or hybrid work, since the implementation of the work model that COVID-19 ushered in showed that the days of being stuck in the office forever are a thing of the past.
Among the analyses that motivated the founders to make the changes and expand the offerings within the platform are the figures analyzed in 2021, which determined that:
- One in five nights booked during the third quarter of 2021 were for stays of 28 days or more.
- Almost half of the nights booked in the third quarter were for accommodation of a minimum of 7 days.
- During the 12 months from September 2020 to the same period in 2021, more than 100,000 guests booked stays of 90 days or more.
- More than 300,000 people submitted an application to apply for one of the 12 available vacancies to live anywhere through Airbnb for a year and contribute their experiences as a guest to the improvement and development of the product.
- 100,000 towns and cities received a booking through Airbnb during the pandemic.
- 6,000 accommodations on the platform received their first booking during the pandemic.
- During the third quarter of 2021, nights booked in local destinations by American guests in rural areas grew by 85% compared to the same quarter of 2019.
- Nights spent on extended family stays grew by 75% from the summer of 2019 to the same period in 2021.
Because no matter where you live or what type of property you own, everyone qualifies to be on Airbnb and be part of this revolutionary model that provides opportunities for all property owners who want to become hosts and earn money.
