Unity and more classrooms in the new year

Coinciding with a work we published in today's edition on the challenges that industry leaders believe the Dominican real estate market faces this new year, we would like to comment on some points that strengthen some of the theories put forward by our interviewees about the dynamic and booming field of real estate in the country.

In the year or so that El Inmobiliariohas been on the scene, we have attended various events, talked with multiple actors, shared with leaders and interviewed its protagonists, working men and women, who are united by goals and projects.

Although the sector does not have statistics with which to compare year-on-year figures, the monitoring we have maintained over the time that our publication has been running tells us of a significant growth in the market of companies and individual agents, inserted into the profession.

This growth in the country, which occurs without filters, regulations, or limits due to the lack of rules determining the requirements for entering the real estate market, often puts the purchasing process at risk for buyers and investors who do not receive timely and satisfactory information when they become interested in or acquire a property.

This exponential increase demands new scenarios from which ongoing training and development can be offered, providing alternatives and motivation for new agents to train, receive timely information, and offer quality service.

It is necessary to create new channels that respond to the high demand for agents, which, added to existing efforts, serve as a complement and opportunities, even more so at a time when the Dominican Republic is in the international spotlight, positioned as one of the world's leading tourist destinations, which has awakened the appetite of national and foreign investors who wish to place capital in the growing field of real estate.

With trained real estate agents who offer high-quality service at the required level, both the sector and the country benefit. Therefore, of all the considerations contained in the text we are publishing today, we focus on two: the training of agents and the necessary unity within the sector, as both are complementary.
