SANTO DOMINGO - The Ministry of Tourism announced that it has postponed the start of its new promotional platform "Ritmo de la Costa" until August 9th, which will run until November 29th in different provinces of the country.
The main purpose of “Ritmo de la Costa” is to promote local tourism, providing communities with attractive cultural and artistic experiences, and at the same time stimulate and promote merengue, recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Through monthly activations, which will take place on the last Saturday of each month, the aim is also to highlight the importance of public spaces and promote social cohesion in each of the destinations involved.
The innovative initiative kicks off on Saturday, August 9th on the boardwalk of the municipality of Santo Domingo Este, with a performance by Toño Rosario.
Through “Ritmo de la Costa” we seek to highlight the cultural richness of the country and provide visitors, both national and foreign, with memorable experiences that strengthen the appreciation for our music and traditions.
This project aims to significantly impact the provinces of Santo Domingo, La Romana, Samaná, San Cristóbal, María Trinidad Sánchez, among others, through a series of tourist and cultural activities.
Ritmo de la Costa will continue to take place on the Caleta boardwalk in La Romana, while in September, the new platform will leave its mark of joy on the recently inaugurated Samaná boardwalk.
