SANTO DOMINGO.- Tourism Minister David Collado announced this Friday that the use of horses, motorcycles and helicopter landings are totally prohibited on the beaches of the municipality of Miches in the province of El Seibo.
Collado made the announcement through his social media, where he assured that Miches is a tourist paradise that, with the effort of the public-private sector, will be developed in a planned and orderly manner.
“Miches is a tourist paradise that, with the effort of the public-private sector, will be developed in a planned and orderly manner. For this reason, the use of horses, motorcycles, and helicopter landings on the beach is completely prohibited,” the official posted on his social media accounts.
The announcement sparked both positive and negative comments among users. Some said that "the tourism sector in Miches has great faith in David Collado's management.".
While others stated that the use of horses on beaches should be evaluated, since many people engage in equestrian tourism.
Miches is one of the few places where you can find completely untouched beaches, such as Costa Esmeralda, where the Dominican Government, through the Ministry of Tourism, is working on the organization and development of access to them.
The access points will consist of a main one, from the highway, which will be complemented by two more access points, the East and the West, which indicates that it is sufficient to link all the infrastructure planned in the area.
