SANTO DOMINGO . Prominent international tourism investors expressed their satisfaction and welcomed President Luis Abinader's decision to reappoint David Collado as Minister of Tourism.
Among the investors who congratulated Collado were Gabriel Escarrer, president of the Meliá Group, Encarna Piñeiro, president of the Piñeiro Group, Adriana Cisneros, head of the Cisneros Group, as well as other Dominican businessmen and members of the Dominican Republic Hotel and Tourism Association (ASONAHORES).
In a message posted on the social network X (formerly Twitter), Escarrer congratulated Collado on his ratification as Minister of Tourism for having done "an impeccable job and being an example of public-private collaboration.".

Encarna Pinero expressed, “I congratulate Collado on his decision to continue in Tourism and he dreams of doing more projects in the Dominican Republic.”.
Other hotel owners expressed similar sentiments, predicting a period of equal success to the one that just ended, where the arrival of more tourists to the Dominican Republic will continue to be encouraged.
Collado has done outstanding work at the head of the Ministry of Tourism, during whose management the country has been recognized worldwide for its great and rapid post-Covid recovery, even by institutions as reputable as the World Tourism Organization.
With the arrival of almost 7 million visitors in the first 7 months of the year, the official projects that 2024 will close with a historic record of 11.5 million visitors.
