SANTIAGO. -Next year, 2023, Santiago de los Caballeros will be promoted internationally as a tourist destination, for which 250 million pesos are projected to be allocated.
David Collado, Minister of Tourism, announced the good news, stating that ten million will be allocated to design the Santiago city brand requested by the Tourism Cluster of this district, and 40 million will be dedicated to promoting and supporting cultural activities in the Historic Center, such as the carnival, the Son de Keka, which takes place in the populous Pepines sector, and others.
The remaining 200 million will be invested in the renovation of areas located in the Historic Center of the Heart City.
Collado stated that in 2023 Santiago de los Caballeros will be presented as a tourist destination at the ANATO Fair in Bogotá, which will be dedicated to the Dominican Republic and will be held from February 22 to 24.
He announced that next Monday, November 5th, he will sign an inter-institutional work and collaboration agreement in Santiago with the Santiago Tourist Destination Cluster, with whose leaders, the communicators Ramón Paulino and Yomaris Gómez, he held a meeting at the Hodelpa Gran Almirante Hotel & Casino.

The event showcased the tourist attractions of the city of Santiago: the Centro León, the Santiago Apóstol Cathedral, the Monument to the Heroes of the Restoration, the mural route, the Santiago City Tour, museums and buildings.
Those participating in the meeting included Germán Ulises Polanco, president of the Santiago Hotel Association, Saúl Abreu, from the Association for the Development of Santiago (APEDI), Teófilo Gómez, general manager of the Cibao International Airport, Ángel Hernández from Hodelpa Hotels and Amalia Moscoso, from the Council for the Strategic Development of Santiago.
