SAN JUAN - With the expectation that it will be completed in the same year, the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, announced this Sunday the construction of a domestic airport in this southern region, a project that would begin in the first quarter of 2023.
During a ceremony to deliver loans to producers in the breadbasket of the South, the president revealed that a structure will be built to allow for fumigation flights to be carried out on the eventual plantations.
The head of state said that the project will be managed by the Dominican Republic's Airport Department.

According to reports, construction work will begin in the first quarter of 2023 and it is estimated to be completed before the end of that year.
This domestic airport will feature a runway, fuel station, cargo areas, a heliport, and general aviation terminals.
In addition, it will have a Dominican Air Force barracks, secondary platforms, and hangars.
