The Corporation for the Promotion of the Hotel Industry and Tourism ( Corphotels ) and the San Cristóbal City Council signed a strategic agreement , for the promotion and development of tourism in that province.
Victor Ogando, general manager of Corphotels La Alianza , and Nelson de la Rosa, mayor of San Cristóbal, signed the agreement at the headquarters of the competent body .
The Corporation for the Promotion of the Hotel Industry and Tourism ( Corphotels ) is an autonomous entity of the Dominican state created by Law No. 542 dated December 31, 1969, and its main objective is to coordinate national activity for the hotel industry and tourism promotion in the Dominican Republic, promoting the acquisition, construction, financing, improvement, and conservation of hotel and tourism companies in general.
The agreement contemplates the division and delimitation of land owned by Corphotels in the vicinity of the Monument to the Constituent Assembly , with a view to achieving a real legal status of its land and promoting future works for tourism purposes in said province.
These will be carried out separately between Corphotels and the mayor's office of that province.
At the signing, both officials also pledged to manage the delivery of titles to the division in question .
"The intention is to consolidate and subdivide all the land adjacent to the Monument to the Constituent Assembly , seeking to give legal identity ," said Ogando, who was accompanied by his technical team in the alliance .
Meanwhile, Mayor De La Rosa stated that the agreement will efficiently benefit tourism in the southern province.
