The Vice President of the Dominican Republic, Raquel Peña, broke ground on the construction of the La Estancia hotel in La Romana, reaffirming the private sector's commitment to continue working alongside the government to strengthen Dominican tourism.
“This achievement is not only a demonstration of our natural beauty, but also of the joint effort of all actors in the sector to diversify the offer and strengthen the quality of our tourism in every corner of our island,” the vice president stated during the ceremony.
Peña highlighted the legal security and political stability enjoyed by the Dominican Republic.
He added that the start of construction work at La Estancia is a sign of how Dominican tourism continues to advance, grow, and transform itself to adapt to the changing times and attract more and more visitors.
The Vice President noted that the Dominican Republic has been recognized as the Best Destination in the Caribbean at the recent Travvy Awards 2024, and the Ministry of Tourism received the award for Best Tourism Organization, solidifying the country as the favorite destination for millions of travelers worldwide.
For his part, Luis Andrés Olivares, president of La Estancia Golf and Country Club, expressed the commitment and shared vision to continue promoting tourism growth and development in this region.
“This country has become an example of growth and security for investors, especially in the tourism sector, thanks to a legal and fiscal framework that guarantees the confidence of those who see this land as the ideal destination to materialize large projects,” said Olivares.
He added that thanks to these policies, tourism in the Dominican Republic is one of the main drivers of the economy and a model to follow in the region and the world.
The project
The Hotel La Estancia, located in the vicinity of La Estancia Golf & Country Club, which will begin construction in collaboration with the Best Western Premier Collection chain, will be a meeting place between nature and modernity, where guests can enjoy high-quality services surrounded by the beauty of the Dominican Republic.
It will have 61 rooms on four levels, surrounded by extraordinary panoramic views as well as a combination of different types of rooms according to the needs of each visitor.
The total built area of the project will cover approximately 3,737.31 m2, while the ground coverage area will be approximately 990.64 m2.
