SANTO DOMINGO – In an elegant ceremony, the 2022 Construgala awards were held, an annual event that recognizes the most cutting-edge construction projects in Santo Domingo and the interior of the country.
Sadery Abreu, CEO of Construmedia, led the award ceremony, which was attended by representatives of the main players in the construction industry, to witness the tribute to the men and women who strive daily to raise the level of buildings in the country.
This year's awards recognized Studios 15.6 Uptown as a standout real estate project in Santo Domingo, with prices up to US$150,000. Located in the Ensanche Serrallés neighborhood, the architectural design and construction are by architect Jorge Montalvo & Associates.

Studios 15.6 Uptown is a modern apartment tower with full amenities, offering pleasant spaces and all the comforts so that its inhabitants have all the services to meet their needs.
In the category with prices ranging between US$150,000 and US$300,000, Orma by Pedralbes received the distinction, a project near Mirador Sur Park, the city's main ecological lung and place to practice exercise.

The US$800,000 project was awarded to 90 Park Towers, located in the Los Cacicazgos sector, with architectural design by GVA Dominicana and construction by Campagna Ricart & Asociados.

Construgala also recognizes talent based in the interior of the country. This year, the Cibao region and its Mariposas del Cerro project, located in the Cerros de Gurabo neighborhood of Santiago, was the winning project; with architectural design by Maria Victoria Bonilla and construction by engineer Pantaleón Salcedo and Associates. The award was presented by Gerdau Metaldom.

Corporate projects were also awarded their place. The EXCEL building, located in
Piantini and designed by GVA Dominicana and built by Ingeniería Metálica e
Ingeniería Avanzada, took home the statuette, which was received by Moll Constructora.

In the price range of US$300,000 to US$500,000, Bolero 21 was chosen. Located in Evaristo Morales, Pulso Arquitectos was responsible for the design, and Intent Desarrollo Inmobiliario oversaw the construction. The award was presented by Kinnox.

Bloom Commercial Plaza was selected in the architectural design category of Santo Domingo, located in the Renacimiento sector, with architectural design by Integra and construction by Imbert Domínguez & Asociados.

The architectural design, created in the interior of the country, was assigned to Bey Garden, located in Bávaro, Punta Cana, with architectural design by BEYARQ and construction by Right Construction.

The Lofts by CRA was the project chosen as a second home in a beach area and was awarded to Ciudad Las Canas, Punta Cana; with architectural design by GVA Dominicana
and construction by Campagna Ricart & Asociados.

The "Outstanding Career" award was given to the architect and engineer Eugenio Pérez Montas, an expert in urban planning, with a significant career of 69 years in the Dominican construction sector, focused on the reconstruction and restoration of Dominican architectural heritage.

During the awards ceremony, a posthumous tribute was paid to María Asunción Gatón Hernández (Susi), former president of ACOPROVI, for her outstanding contribution to the construction industry throughout her life; a special recognition was given to her family.
