SANTO DOMINGO. -The MOPC, Ministry of Public Works and Communications, announced that from Monday night, June 5, until Saturday, June 10, it will proceed with the closure of vehicular traffic through various overpasses, including bridges, located in Greater Santo Domingo, due to maintenance work.
In each case there will be a total closure and the hours to be in effect will be from 10:00 at night to 5:00 in the morning of the following day.
Yesterday, Monday, and today, Tuesday, the bridge over the Ozama River, which connects Charles de Gaulle Avenue with Santo Domingo North, and the Ortega y Gasset Tunnel control center (UASD) will be closed in both directions.
Yesterday, Monday, the closure included the Juan Pablo Duarte Bridge. Maintenance will be performed on the overpass on 27 de Febrero Avenue on Monday and Wednesday.
Today, Tuesday, the underpasses at the intersections of Ortega y Gasset and 27 de Febrero avenues, and John F. Kennedy and Máximo Gómez avenues will be closed, as well as the Kennedy overpass at Ortega y Gasset and the Juan Bosch bridge.
The work to be carried out includes solid waste collection, sweeping and aggregate collection, weed control, general cleaning of the surroundings and drainage, among others.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, the Kennedy overpasses with Lope de Vega and Tiradentes will be closed; the Las Américas highway with José Francisco Peña Gómez street (Boca Chica), the Puerto de Caucedo road, streets 7 and 6 with Route 66 (both directions), and with Hípica avenue.
Also, the overpasses at Las Américas with marginal Las Américas, Santo Domingo-Samaná and the Jubey road with Boca Chica.
Also on Friday, the long tunnel of 27 de Febrero with Abraham Lincoln and Winston Churchill, the overpasses of 25 de Febrero with Avenida España and Faro a Colón; the overpasses at kilometer 21 of the Duarte highway with entrance to Los Alcarrizos, and the Floating Bridge will be closed.
On Saturday, the closures include the underpasses at the intersections of 27 de Febrero Avenue with Privada, Los Reyes Católicos with Ramón Cáceres, and the Kennedy overpass with Núñez de Cáceres.
