SANTO DOMINGO - The international tender for the construction of the bascule bridge over the Ozama River that will replace the floating bridge will be published on all the websites of Dominican embassies accredited around the world.
The international tender for this project was sent by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the various Dominican embassies abroad, according to a press release from Public Works, which refers to a communication from Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez, addressed to the Minister of Public Works and Communications, Deligne Ascención.
The road construction will be built over the Ozama River, connecting Francisco Caamaño de Deñó Avenue (formerly Puerto Avenue) with Malecón Avenue in Villa Duarte.
In the communication addressed to the ambassadors accredited in the country, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Vice Minister for Economic Affairs and International Cooperation, Hugo Rivera Fernández, requests that the communication in question be processed “through your esteemed channels to the companies and governmental and private organizations of your respective nations, if you deem it appropriate.
The bascule bridge will connect Francisco Caamaño Deñó Avenue (formerly Port Avenue) with Malecón Avenue, in Villa Duarte, and will replace the old Floating Bridge that is still in service and connects the National District with the municipality of Santo Domingo East.
