The real estate sector is undergoing a transformation, says Carlos Rentalo

“Work harder, do a little more than your competitor: one more conversation, one more follow-up, one more video. 80% of sales occur after five contacts with the buyer,” the Spaniard explained.

SANTO DOMINGO. – Carlos Rentalo understands that the real estate sector is experiencing a moment of transformation and that true change arises in times of crisis, storms, and stress; “something good always comes out of it.”

The experienced real estate agent was one of the speakers at the International Congress “The New Real Estate Era”, held last Thursday the fourth, organized by the Association of Real Estate Agents and Companies (AEI), where he shone with a presentation tailored to the new times.

“Build your personal brand” was the theme of his conference, where, before a room full of real estate agents, he invited them to follow their passion, be different, original, and behave like a real star.

And speaking of this new era, he talked about Metaverse, that virtual world that offers the opportunity to live new experiences. He presented the world's first virtual real estate company: Metaverse Property: your gateway to the metaverse.

He advised those present not to limit their marketing plans to social media alone, arguing that the availability of a blog with useful and in-depth content represents a highly valued added value for clients and investors who are given the opportunity to find more than just properties.

Rentalo offered some suggestions for real estate agents to avoid becoming a "real estate Gremlins." This refers to the 1984 American horror-comedy film directed by Joe Dante, whose plot revolves around a teenager who receives a strange pet named Gizmo as a gift. Gizmo is a creature that, under certain circumstances, transforms into a small, highly destructive monster.

“Maintaining an attitude of effort and dedication to ‘do one more’ is one of the keys. Work harder, do a little more than your competitor, one more conversation, one more follow-up, one more video. 80% of sales occur after five contacts with the buyer,” the Spaniard explained.

He understands that a good real estate agent believes in going the extra mile, striving to be even better, collaborating, and acting ethically. In his opinion, not all clients receive the same amount of time and effort, and he points out that some clients may take six months or even a year before making a purchase.

He illustrated to the large audience the buyer classification questions that should be applied to clients: “ask in what time frame you plan to buy, what price range you are looking in, have you already been informed of any projects or visited, have you looked at any mortgage loans for the purchase, when could we meet.”.

Another piece of advice he offered to the real estate agents who attended the event at the Hotel Catalonia del Malecón was to give specialization the importance it deserves because the new era is for specialized real estate brokers.

His final reflection is that in today's world we must unlearn and relearn.
