SANTO DOMINGO. – Authorities presented “Operation Holy Week 2025” They reported that the operation will deploy 25,548 police officers and 2,400 soldiers, 4,577 patrol vehicles, tow trucks for roadside assistance, and 12 real-time license plate verification system to monitor speeding , vehicles without license plates, reckless driving, and other infractions.
As part of the special operation, they will reinforce preventive patrols and intelligence work throughout the territory, with particular attention to tourist, residential, and commercial areas. The ban on parties public and private beaches and the sale of alcoholic beverages on Good Friday .
During the ceremony on the esplanade of the National Police Palace , led by Vice President Raquel Peña ; the Minister of the Interior and Police, Faride Raful ; and the Police Director, Major General Ramón Antonio Guzmán Peralta, it was indicated that the relief and security agencies will work together in the extensive operation during this period of high mobility.
Raful said that these provisions, implemented in previous years, are effective in protecting the population and preserving tranquility , and that to ensure compliance, the police and the Directorate of Control of Alcohol Sales (COBA) will act in accordance with the law.
He stated that during this holiday they hope not only to fill the streets with agents to defend national and citizen security , but also to accompany citizens who believe in this law enforcement agency.
Authorities reminded the public that Holy Week represents a date of profound religious significance for a large part of the Dominican people and reiterated their call for restraint, reflection, and prudence in all public spaces.
Regarding the measures outlined in the resolution, the official stated that this decision was adopted by the Joint Task Force that coordinates security actions, as part of the commitment to security, order, and citizen coexistence.
He indicated that the goal is to avoid overcrowding and guarantee safe spaces for family enjoyment and to protect the well-being of communities with national and foreign visitors
